Security
Most UNIX flavors have existed for quite some time, and therefore many of the security issues have been discovered and their causes fixed. Even though new security issues are always popping
up, the large installed user base means that fixes are always easy to come by. Plus, many of the users can come up with fixes themselves because the average UNIX administrator is
extremely well versed at fixing their own problems.
